I'm not fat, I'm pleasantly plump!
I took him to my vet this morning to use the scale there for the official weigh-in. He tipped the scales at 65.6 pounds! His target weight should be between 32 and 35 pounds - he is literally going to be 1/2 the dog that he is now when he reaches his final weight. Sparky's Quest begins!
After the vet we were off with Kira and Winnie on the morning circuit through the park. Generally we spend a good hour walking in the park. Sparky slowed things down a bit and we took a bit longer than normal. He has a ton of heart and did his best, although we truncated the route we normally take with Winnie to ease Sparky into the thick of things.
We introduced Sparky to "the regulars" in the park and they were all pleased to meet him, although Sparky was a bit apprehensive and aggressive with the other dogs.
Right now he struggles with the desire to walk and run in the park and his stamina not being capable of carrying him where his mind wants to go. If Winnie is any indication, he'll be picking up steam rapidly and starting to drop a few of the easy pounds very quickly.
